# STARTING your consultation: How to start a consultation with your Healthcare Provider?

Step 1 – Login to the portal using your email address and password

Step 2 – Click on the menu item – my appointments

Step 3 – Click on the appointment card

If your Healthcare Provider has already started the consult you will be able to go straight into the virtual room.

If your Healthcare Provider has not started the consult you will arrive at your Provider’s “Virtual Waiting Room”.

Once your Healthcare Provider starts the consult you will be able to see your Provider and he or she will be able to see you.

Make sure that you have granted uConsult access to your video and microphone.

You can mute yourself or turn your camera off.

When the virtual consult is completed please click the red telephone button to end the consult and you will be taken back to your home page where you can either book another appointment or log out.
